My Path Rolls On

Driving through this heavy rain,

Can’t see past my window pane.

Angry clouds block out the sky,

Never bothering to tell me why.

My path rolls on.

My path rolls on.

Another blur speeds on its way,

Little thinking of risks at play,

Like all the others passing by,

Unconcerned my life’s awry.

My path rolls on.

My path rolls on.

My path rolls on,

Without a dawn

I stayed ever true,

But that wasn’t enough for you.

Built a home, a family…

Things your values couldn’t see.

I could’ve been a great dad,

Offered them the best I had

But you simply saw no need,

Left me on this road to bleed.

Ohhhhhhhhh…

My path rolls on,

My path rolls on.

My path rolls on,

Without a dawn.

Driving through this endless rain,

Drifting in my lonely lane,

Wondering if I’ll ever find

Shelter to rest my mind.

My path rolls on,

My path rolls on

Clinging to this stubborn hope

Salvation lies upon this slope.

Yet these wounds can’t seem to heal,

Drained by my daily ordeal.

My path rolls on,

My path rolls on and on and on.

My path rolls on,

Without a dawn

Will these storms ever end?

Will I ever find a friend?

One whose love flows like this rain

To wash away decades of pain?

Will that sun ever rise

To reveal clear blue skies?

Will my heart know how to feel

If I face a love that’s real?

Ohhhhhhhhh…

My path rolls on,

My path rolls on and on and on.

My path rolls on,

Without a dawn

Driving through this mocking rain,

Promising a life of pain.

Bitter clouds that shroud the sky

Make me question why I try.

My path rolls on,

My path rolls on and on and on.

My path rolls on,

Without a dawn.
