Little Powdered Donuts

She dodged as the first one sailed through her red hair.

But shock froze her just a moment, and left her standing there

As my second missile caught her on the tip of her nose,

Spraying a puff of sugar as it fell into her clothes.

Oh, those donuts! My little powdered donuts!

Whether hurled or devoured, they never let me down!

You could see her burst of anger quickly fade away

As the mischief in that moment overpowered her dismay.

Still she raised up on her toes and pounded to my side

Grabbed my bag of weapons and cast them far and wide.

Oh, those donuts! My white powdered donuts!

Nothing makes you sadder than seeing them scattered on the ground!

I couldn't help remarking about the crazy mess she made

So she pointed to her face, and chastised my tirade.

So I rose to stand before her and kissed her cheeks quite clean

Then I opened up her blouse and treated her like a queen.

Oh, those donuts! My powdered sugar donuts!

Nothing tastes so good when you lick it off a gown!

She sighed as I nibbled up that last little crumb

And I knew my wife had forgiven me my silly tantrum.

Then she grabbed me by my collar and pulled me down the hall

For another perfect ending to our latest rockfall.

Oh, those donuts! Those magic little donuts!

Nothing saves a marriage like a sugary hoedown!

Oh, those donuts! My little powdered donuts!

Whether hurled or devoured, they never let me down!

Whether hurled or devoured, they never let me down!
